Mrs Sunanda Weerasinghe is the Immediate Past President of Sri Lanka Food Processors Association 2016/17
Exco member Institute of Food Technology and Science. She is the chairperson of the committee for Cleaner Dining program in the Colombo City ,A program to upgrade the hygienic standards of the city ‘s eating houses in a joint program with the public health Department of the Colombo Municipal council . She has written Nivahal Deshiya Arthikayak Godanagamu as co-author with Dr. Sujatha Weerasinghe contributing the major part to provide Knowhow to grow commercially all the vegetables ,pulses we can grow to be self sufficient in food . Mrs Weerasinghe has translated Arahatmagga Arahatpala written by Ven Maha Buwa Thero on meditation .
She has got six experts to write the book Be a lotus to transform school children's, thinking towards spiritual values and working towards economic independence .
She has been able to fulfill the needs of vegans and vegetarians providing all that they need from fabulous desserts to meatless meat , protein and fiber rich meal mixes and health beverages aiming at 40 + age group towards healthier living . Her mission is to create awareness by recreating vegetarian food so that each and every human being is led to discover the divinity within them
